This evening brings together two artists with distinctive practices who explore sound as a living, unstable, and constantly transforming material.
With *Circuits’ Love Songs*, Davide Paolillo explores the relationships between memory, voice, and machine through a modified no-input mixing desk. Voice and poetry enter a feedback system where words become sonic material, fragmenting, transforming, and reappearing in new forms. The performance unfolds as a shifting dialogue between human gesture and machinic behaviour, between presence and disappearance, meaning and texture.
Nicolas Van Belle continues this exploration through guitar, improvisation, and an experimental approach shaped by noise, rebetiko, and noise rock. His work brings forth a rich palette of textures and timbres, moving between acoustic and electronic sounds, sonic abstraction, and introspective atmospheres.
Two different approaches, united by the same desire to experiment, listen, and push the boundaries of sound as a material.

Artists
Nicolas Van Belle
Nicolas is a guitarist and composer active in the fields of improvised sound music, noise, rebetiko, and noise rock. He seeks out unconventional performance possibilities, resulting in works that capture specific timbres. His work encompasses acoustic and electronic music, experimental sounds, and influences from various genres. In his solo career, he explores a wide range of textures, focusing on atmospheric sounds and introspective themes such as undergrowth.
Davide Paolillo
Davide Paolillo (*1992) is an Italian composer and sound artist based in Brussels, whose work explores the physical properties of sound and the dynamic relationship between the composer, performer, and media. His practice is rooted in direct experimentation with everyday objects, instrument deformation, amplification, electronics, and creative coding. Davide studied jazz piano, electronic music, and composition in Milan, Como, and Antwerp, and attended the Sonology programme at the Institute of Sonology in The Hague. His work includes chamber music pieces, ranging from solo instruments to ensembles (with or without electronics), as well as multimedia installations and multichannel electronic works.
